Ringing is faster, and it is the only way to get a real answer about a noise in one go. The form is there for after hours, or for when you would rather write it down than describe it.

- Send the make, model, year and roughly what the odometer reads. Half of what decides a price is which service interval the car is up to, and none of that is guessable from the model alone.
- Say what the car is doing and when it does it. A noise that only turns up cold is a different fault from one that only turns up hot, and that single detail regularly saves an hour on the hoist.
- The number you approve is the number you pay. If the job turns out bigger once it is apart, the work stops and you get a call, rather than a larger invoice at the end.
What gets you a real answer faster
- Make, model, year and roughly the kilometres. Service items fall due on both kilometres and years, and low-kilometre cars are the ones most often overdue.
- When the symptom happens: only when cold, only once warm, only under braking, only turning. This narrows a fault more than any other single detail.
- Whether a warning light is on, and whether it is steady or flashing. A flashing engine light is the one to ring about immediately rather than book for next week.
- Whether the car tows, does short trips, or lives near the water. All three change what we look at first, and none of them is visible on the odometer.
When you can get us
The workshop is open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5pm, and closed on weekends. If a call comes in while someone is under a car, which happens most of the day, leave a message with the make, model and what it is doing, and you will get a call back rather than an unanswered voicemail.
Where we take cars from
Cars come from across Cairns: Edmonton, Bentley Park, Gordonvale and Woree in the south, Earlville, Manunda and Portsmith through the middle, and Redlynch, Smithfield and Trinity Beach to the north. If you are a bit further out, at Mount Sheridan, Kewarra Beach, Freshwater or beyond, ring anyway. We are not going to turn away a car over a postcode.
